18 Thais now believed to have been killed in Israel, 3,000 want evacuation
The number of Thai nationals who have died as a result of the Hamas attacks on Israel has increased to 18 and the number seeking to return to Thailand has increased to about 3,000, according to Deputy Foreign Minister Jakkaphong Sangmanee today (Tuesday).

Thai government to give 10,000-baht digital wallet to citizens despite criticism
Despite facing staunch criticism from experts, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin confirmed on Friday that the Thai government will proceed with its plan to distribute a 10,000-baht digital wallet to every Thai citizen over the age of 16. This announcement comes in response to comments from Bank of Thailand (BoT) governor Sethaput Suthiwartnarueput, who criticised the economic stimulus policy.

Tourism fee fund to be fast-tracked after payouts to families in the Siam Paragon mass shooting
New foreign tourism levy to be paid on arrival at kiosks at Immigration Bureau points of entry, including at airports after landing. The fee will also be delivered via a website or smartphone app, said the Ministry of Tourism and Sports in the latest update on a proposal that has been up in the air for decades but has yet to be implemented by successive Thai governments.

Patong tuk-tuk drivers charged for assault on tourist
PHUKET: Three tuk-tuk drivers in Patong have been charged with “jointly causing harm to another person” after an altercation with a tourist over a B300 fare early yesterday.
